Kriptobotani and Mystery Man Eater of Trees

Man-eating trees often appear in popular fiction as plants from the wilds of Africa. Perhaps inspired by plants that are able to trap and prey on small animals, such as Nepenthes rajah.

Legend of vicious plants, for example written by Karl Shuker, British kriptozoolog in The Beasts That Hide From Man (2003). Mentioned that the Latin American region is thought to be the presence of the giant plant.

Any interest in making science researchers on this wild plant also has its own name, which kritpobotani. The science of studying a wide range of exotic plants whose existence is not recognized scientific community, but there is the myth, literature, or report that has not been proven.

There are some records that have not believed the truth, if there truly exists or mere hoaxes. For example:

1. Madagascar tree

In 1881, German adventurer named Carl Liche wrote about the sacrifices made by Mkodo tribes in Madagascar. He describes the shape of the tree is slender like a snake but like a vicious anaconda.

"Like the great green snake, with brutal energy and speed of hell, rose, retracted themselves, and wrapped so tight prey. Highly cruel as speed anaconda that wraps its prey." Information on the tree later published in 1924 as the State Tree Man Eater by former Michigan Governor Chase Osborn, Madagascar. Osborn also claimed that both the tribes and missionaries on Madagascar knew about the hideous tree.

2. Ya-Te-Veo

In a book by JW Buels entitled Land and Sea, mentioning the carnivorous tree called Ya-te-Veo (I see you). Ya-te-Veo is claimed to be living in the midst of the South American continent.

Has not been clear until now whether the Ya-Te-Veo and Madagascar tree is real or just a fabrication. So, the mystery about this man-eater tree unresolved and need further research. Perhaps anyone would try memecahkanya?
